About Us

Officially launched in 2007 as Cancer Voices Queensland, CanSpeak Queensland is the prominent consumer advocacy body representing the interests of all Queenslanders whose lives have been affected by cancer. The name change in 2012, at both state and national levels, reflects the organisations' commitment to effectively engage people at a more grassroots level.

As an independent network of people, CanSpeak QLD aims to reduce the impact cancer may have on the lives of those diagnosed, family members, friends and carers by promoting a better quality of life through working effectively with State and Federal Governments, health professionals and the community.

By developing partnerships with cancer patients, survivors, family members and health professionals working in cancer care CanSpeak QLD present a forum to share issues, experiences and ideas common to all cancer types.

Our trained consumer representatives sit on many working parties, groups and committees for site-specific cancers such as breast, prostate, bowel and lung. In addition to this, CanSpeak QLD members participate in systematic reviews, research teams and cancer and consumer forums throughout Queensland and Australia. You can request a CSQ consumer represenatative by downloading the form from this website.
